After working on it over this weekend, GCRM's beloved 1956 CB&Q EMD E8A No. 9913 recieved some much needed repairs to the rear Head End Power generator. Thanks to our dedicated volunteers John Tompkins, Jr. and David McIntyre, the 500 kilowat generator recieved attention relating to it's fuel. Previous to the repair, the generator was hunting and unstable. Expect to see the CB&Q No. 9913 at this month's First Saturday and Spooky Halloween.

On June 9th, 2013 The Gold Coast Railroad Museum hosted its annual board of directors election and would like to congratulate its new Member & Officers. While we would like to congratulate our new president Russell Swain, we would also like to thank Ed Dunham, and Sam Boldrick for their service on the board of directors for the past several  years.

Jeff Brown: Member since 1983

I have served on the Museum Board in the past as President, Vice President and Secretary. I helped in the restructuring and updating of the Museum Bylaws bringing up from a “Club Organization” to a state of Florida Not-for-profit Museum Facility. I am a strong believer of an operating museum and am actively involved in re-equipping the Stream Lounge and Dining cars for on or off property use. I am active in pursuing donations of equipment and supplies for the Museum and have over $125,000.00 to donate.

Jamie Jones: Member since 1990

As an active member of the Museum, I am involved in both administrative and operational aspects of its development. I coordinate the training of new crew members and use my available time on weekends as much as I can at the Museum to assist with projects and mechanical maintenance of the locomotives and rolling stock as well as tending to the rail infrastructure. As an employee of the local government in Broward County, I also bring operational and administrative experience in policies and procedure that I use to guide Museum with staffing and other administrative areas.

Bob Highbaugh: Member since 2012

I am retired police officer and building contractor from California. I am currently a self-employed business management and organizational behavior consultant. I have a lot of experience in both non-profit organizations as well as for-profit organizations that would benefit the GCRM. I have founded two 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and served on the boards of numerous other charitable and civic organizations. I have extensive experience in event planning, fund raising, as well as coordinating volunteer activities.

Support the Collection!

The Gold Coast Museum is a non-profit organization. This year, we gave approximately 24,000 passengers a ride aboard our railroad. We rely on our volunteers and your donations to help keep us running, without this money, we would not be able to do the countless restoration projects that we have on the property. Please consider supporting us in our venture to keep these lovely historic pieces of equipment operational. If you would like to donate towards a specific car or project, please, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . You can give directly to us by using paypal (Just click the picture below!), or by calling us at (305) 253-0063, and telling the store staff that you'd like to make a donation.
